From a single truck in 1927 to complex projects across the country, Yannuzzi Group has grown through four generations of hard work, innovation and an unwavering commitment to doing the job right.
It Started With a Single Truck.
James Yannuzzi, Sr. founded the company in Belleville, New Jersey in 1927. What began with a single Pierce-Arrow truck moving cargo throughout New Jersey steadily grew into a trusted local trucking operation.
Yannuzzi became known for impeccably maintained equipment and its ability to handle demanding construction work.
From Trucking to Demolition.
As the company grew, James Yannuzzi, Sr. brought his three sons—Jim, Larry and Carmen—into the business. When James retired, the brothers took over and continued expanding the company.
In 1957, Jim Yannuzzi became President and incorporated the business. Building on Yannuzzi's trucking expertise, equipment and industry relationships, the company expanded into demolition and established a growing presence throughout the Northeast.
Helping a Nation Pick Up the Pieces.
When tragedy struck on September 11, 2001, Yannuzzi was among the first contractors on site. Crews helped separate and haul debris for careful examination, screening and sorting.
Some of the structural steel was preserved to become part of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, while other material was separated for recycling.

In 2005, John Yannuzzi became the third generation to lead the family business. Under his leadership, Yannuzzi began strategically expanding beyond its established demolition capabilities.
Site work construction was added to serve clients throughout New Jersey and beyond, creating a more complete suite of services and positioning Yannuzzi to take on increasingly complex projects.
Turning Yesterday's Materials Into Tomorrow's Resources.
In 2008, Yannuzzi established its Class B recycling facility in New Jersey, creating a premier destination for recycling and a trusted source for recycled building materials.
The facility strengthened Yannuzzi's commitment to responsible demolition and provided greater control over the recovery, processing and reuse of materials generated by its projects.
Growing Beyond Demolition.
Yannuzzi continued expanding its capabilities with the addition of environmental remediation services in 2013, providing methods and technologies for addressing environmental hazards and contamination on project sites.
In 2017, the company further strengthened its commitment to sustainable construction by producing and bagging its own asphalt and recycled concrete products for construction, paving and landscaping companies throughout the Northeast.
Built for What's Next.
Continued growth has required an operation capable of supporting multiple large-scale projects at once. Yannuzzi developed a state-of-the-art equipment maintenance, marshalling and storage facility in Hillsborough, New Jersey.
Today, the company that began with a single truck operates an extensive fleet and provides demolition, site work, environmental and recycling capabilities for projects throughout the region and across the country.
